Showers (2/25/1996)
For the longest time I always assumed that showers must be taken in the morning and I always took them then. It woke you up, it made it easier to comb your hair afterwards, and it felt good being clean before you took off somewhere.

My friend Mike though does it differently--- he takes his showers at night. Interesting, I thought. I tried it for a week and here's what I found out...

  • More time in morning - if you take a shower at night thus avoiding a morning shower then you have more time to read your e-mail, browse the web, eat breakfast, etc... before you go to school
  • Get to bed easier - if you take a shower at night you will feel all nice and clean and sleep easier.
  • Warmer - sometimes in the winter it's extremely cold in the house and I don't really wanna be standing around my bathroom wet and naked when it is freezing out. If you avoid your morning shower then you can just get dressed right away.
  • Less Noise - by taking a night shower you avoid making a bunch of noise in the morning that might wake your family.
  • Clean Bed - if you don't go to bed dirty, your bed should stay clean a lot longer
  • Socks - if your feet aren't wet then it's easier to put on your socks in the morning
However, all these advantages weren't enough for me. I found that I go to bed so late that I'm more tired at night than in the morning anyway. Going to bed isn't a problem for me, I just crash. As for making less noise--- more people would be annoyed at 2-3am than at 6-7am. And as for socks, I just don't put them on until I leave the house... by then I've walked around enough and they're dry.

Overall, I think that taking a shower in the morning is easier.
