Community idea...

This is actually an idea for a community... I guess I
could do it myself, but I don't speak for Frank. ;)
I could see if a volunteer wants to do it. Hm... 

idea: 
A "Dear Frank" advice column. It would require a
little custom work on a style I think, but essentially
people would post messages to Frank (ideally ones that
wouldn't directly give away their identity) and Frank
would respond with goat-appropriate "helpful" advice.

Think people would like it?! Who runs the Frank
journal, btw?

I was also thinking of a community where people would
post unusual pictures of people, politicians, etc...
and other people would reply with amusing captions!

All this makes me think we need a style that allows
you to see all posts and responses all on the main
journal page, and perhaps a way for people to create
journals where anyone could post, but only a very few
specific people can respond... and we would have to
make sure there is a way to turn off responses to
their responses, if needed. This kind of feature would
be a very cool way to attract bands, celebrities,
etc., since it would allow them to have their fans ask
questions and for them to respond from most anywhere
without having to do any html. 

This would be pretty cool for such people. No need to
have messages sent to you, for you to get a response
back to a webmaster... for you to pay the webmaster to
update things, etc.

Alternately, it would be nice if posts from fans to a
journal like this could be reviewed before becoming
public. In this way, a celebrity could pick and choose
which "letters" to respond to. Such journals could
also be great for feedback from software
manufacturers, companies, and probably a ton of other
users.

That's what happens when I start thinking about
anything remotely related to LJ... I come up with
several other ideas we don't have time to implement
yet!
