text messaging support for Verizon Wireless

Brad,

I'm a newly paid subscriber, and am interested in obtaining text messaging.
My company is Verizon Wireless. Here is what their website has to say about
text messaging:

Sending messages from our website:
Friends, family and associates can send you a text message from our website
at http://www.msg.myvzw.com simply by typing in your 10-digit mobile number,
their e-mail address and a message. The message will be delivered directly
to your handset.

Sending a text message from any e-mail system with an Internet connection:
Anyone can send you a text message from e-mail simply by composing a message
and sending it directly to your digital handset. Your handset address is
your 10-digit mobile number followed by @msg.myvzw.com. For example,
9495551212@msg.myvzw.com.

Sending messages from a PC or messaging software:
Commercial Text Messaging Software can also be used to send text messages to
your phone. Verizon Wireless does not sell or support messaging software.

Modem Settings:
TAP Access: Messages can be sent via a TAP interface using a modem to dial
out to our messaging platform via our toll-free number (1-866-823-0501).
Baud Rate: Starting rate 2400
Data Format: Standard TAP, 7 data bits, even parity 1 stop bit.
Communication Protocols: Either two-way or one-way messaging.
Message Length: 120 characters.

Thank you for your time and effort,
adrienne
