Text message (accountname revtiernan)
Hi Brad,
I just signed up for a paid account the other day, and I was interested in
the text messaging thingie. My provider is Cingular Wireless in
Connecticut (formerly SNET Wireless). I don't know if it's even possible
to set it up, but your FAQ said email you to see. Sooo here I am. :)
My provider uses a form gateway. Here's how it works, tho it's kinda
complicated.
http://onlinestore.sbc.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/ES_HOME.d2w/report?STORENAME=snesne
From there, at the bottom of the page in leeeetle teeeny letters it says,
"send a digital text message" Go there. It'll pop up a little window, you
don't need to set up an account (I tested this already). Choose the tab
"send a message"
Ok, in the first space you gotta put my cell phone number which is
203-631-8539. No dashes or spaces. You can skip the space for a callback
number if you like, unless you want to send it. It's optional. Then in
the big textarea you type in your message up to 110 characters and at the
bottom click the send button and I'll get it on my phone :). If you want to
send me messages to test it that's fine. I have unlimited free messaging.
Like I said, I don't know if LiveJournal can be set up for that or not but
I figure there's no harm in checking.
Thanks!
Jo Kline
